The best marker of your position in the dominance hierarchy is women's interest. When out with a group of men, if you're the one most women show interest in, you top the hierarchy within that group. Do what it takes to top this hierarchy. All other hierarchies are insignificant. This is the most important hierarchy because it's primal. You may be the boss in your office, but if you're at the bottom rung of the primal hierarchy, good luck feeling happy!
