I don’t believe in luck. Only losers do. But the idea of luck is so romantic that even some of the smartest people can’t seem to let go of it. I’m currently reading a book with a chapter titled How to Hack Luck to Favor You. Scott Adams, one of the most influential people in my life, someone I revere like a dad, also writes in his life-changing book How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big about how you can control luck. All of that sounds great, but I feel like they’re so close, so close. They just need to ask themselves one question. If you can hack it, if you can control it, is it really luck? Boom! Just give up the idea of luck and take control of your fate.
