“Live on your own terms, never bend to someone else’s will.” Sounds great, but it’s useless advice For the wise, it works; for the dumb, it’s disastrous. And since fools think they’re wise, what happens when they follow it? On top of that—“Hey kid, don’t you dare talk down to me or tell me how to live. That’s not how I raised you. I’m your parent, you’re the child. You’ll always be the child. And I’ll always know better, because I’ve lived longer.”
