I’ve long held that LLMs and the human brain are fundamentally the same, except that the human brain is orders of magnitude more sophisticated. Today I had an epiphany that further solidified that conviction.
Many smart people have argued that art created by AI will never truly appeal to humans because an essential component of art is that it’s created by humans. That’s why a painting made by a machine doesn’t feel like art to us, while something hand-created does. I agree that art is art because it’s a product of human intelligence.
But here’s the thing. Have you noticed that humans are already enjoying AI-generated content? Have you heard AI-generated music? I have, and it’s mind-blowing. Instagram is flooded with AI-generated reels, and people love them.
How is that happening?
Because AI isn’t simply a machine. At a fundamental level, it operates the same way the human brain does. The fact that humans connect with AI-generated content suggests that the human intelligence doesn’t see AI as something separate from itself. Intelligence recognizes intelligence. It recognizes its own.
