Respectability of job today is decided by how much money it pays. That's so wrong. It should instead be decided by what knowledge/skills it takes to hold that job, how it treats you, and how it benefits the society as a whole, among other things. An accountant making 10k/month is living a more respectable life, in my view, than an undergraduate call center zombie making 30k/month.
