People who are distraught by the existence of double standards are immature believers of Utopia, who don't realize how the world works Holding double standards is not a bug but a feature of human nature I'm not suggesting holding it up and celebrating double standards There is value in pointing them out and trying to eliminate them; like there is value in striving for rationality But it's also wise to know irrationality is a feature, not a bug
